An Ambituous acquisition

Harrods Holdings took a pivotal step in 1995 by acquiring Hunting Business Aviation from the Hunting Group, an entity with deep roots in aviation since the 1930s.

This acquisition was more than a business transaction; it represented the combining of Hunting Group’s experience with Harrods’ unique vision to establish an FBO business in London that mirrored the luxury and prestige of its flagship store.

A commitment to excellence

Originally known as Metro Business Aviation, the company rebranded to Harrods Aviation in 2003. This change highlighted a renewed commitment to upholding the iconic Harrods standards and positioning itself among the world’s most preferred FBOs, loved by the global elite.

Business Expansion and Milestones

Harrods Aviation’s facilities at London Luton and London Stansted airports have seen remarkable growth over the years. Increasing demand at the London Luton FBO during the early 2000s led to the construction of a second hangar and ramp in 2005, followed by the relocation to an expanded site with additional ramp space in 2008.

Joining a Global Network

The sale of Harrods Aviation to Qatar Holding in May 2010 marked a new chapter for the business. By May 2013, both the London Luton and London Stansted FBOs became members of the Air Elite Network, a global network of exceptional FBOs dedicated to delivering the highest standards of service.

A new Era: The Brompton Acquisition

In January 2023, Harrods Aviation expanded its horizons further with the acquisition of The Brompton. This ambitious move reflected the company’s commitment to innovation and growth to better serve its elite clientele.
